BWA Water Additives, a world leader in the development of high performance specialty chemical solutions, announces the introduction of Belcor 585 corrosion inhibitor for industrial water systems.  Belcor 585 is a new all-organic corrosion inhibitor that offers the corrosion benefits of traditional phosphino and phosphono polymer and phosphonate programs along with enhanced antiscalant properties.  Belcor 585 provides robust ferrous metal corrosion protection compared to other inhibitors in low to moderate hardness waters through superior inhibitor film integrity.  Belcor 585 is also tolerant of halogen biocides reducing losses in the bulk water.  In addition to its outstanding corrosion inhibition performance, Belcor 585 also exhibits excellent activity as a calcium carbonate inhibitor.  This multifunctionality allows the water treatment formulator excellent opportunities to reduce formulation components, simplify blending processes and reduce raw material inventories.  Belcor 585 can also help to reduce the environmental impact of water treatment programs since it is biodegradable and has a lower phosphorous content than most phosphonates.  The low phosphorous content of Belcor 585 also reduces the amount of biocide needed for biological control through the minimization of a nutrient source.  Belcor 585 is an exciting new corrosion inhibitor that will help to extend end user asset life, maximize system reliability and minimize down time.
